Should we watch The Jaime Foxx vampire movie?

Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco are the stars of the new vampire hunting movie "Day Shift". The movie is about a blue collar working dad who wants to provide for his child's happiness. But, his mundane job at the pool in San Fernando Valley serves as a front for hunting and killing Vampires as part of an international Union of vampiric hunters.

Although the premise sounds great, can J.J. Perry make it work?

The opening scene of the film is a wild action sequence that sees Jamie Foxx shooting a shotgun at an old lady, who turns out to have been a vampire. This then becomes a nuts fight sequence between the two of them that is such a blast. The movie's use of ragdoll physics in its action scenes makes them pop in a way that many other action movies (or blockbusters) do not.

Day Shift is a movie so bad that it's funny. It is so obvious what they were trying, yet it fails so miserably. It is lacking in acting ability, dialogue, and plot. However, it was still enjoyable. Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for vampire movies, or maybe it's because I just enjoy watching bad movies. Either way, I had a good time watching Day Shift. It's not a great movie, but it's a lot of fun. And really, that's all I ask from a movie like this.

Day Shift was a very mixed movie. The movie (Day Shift horror movie) has a lot to offer, including some good action and characters (the brothers and Seth), while the villain is terrible and the characters are very average. There were scenes that could have been added but they didn't. Bud's neighbor acts as if they are friends even though she had only 3 minutes screen time before the final scene. This helps the best characters shine even more. It's a fun movie overall, but could have been more.

Snoop dogg was something I almost forgot to mention. He's an amazing character in Day Shift. He makes the whole movie worth watching. His character is funny and he has great lines. More importantly, he just feels so natural in the part. It's as if he was made for the role.
